Not me, the website. The only time facelift really crosses my mind is when I see a woman with a facelift and I think to myself, “and that’s why I’ll never have a face lift.”
I’m all about keeping the body looking great, but I believe there’s a natural way to do it. It starts with working out, eating healthy and unfortunately no sun. I’m guilty of eating cookies, binge eating and NOT throwing it up, and I love baking my skin on the beach. We are all continuously working on balance and I’ll continue to find mine. In the mean time, I’ll keep working out 5 days a week, eating somewhat healthy and because it’s winter I’ll stay away from the sun. There are other natural ways to keep the body away from the knife, but I’m not a dermatologist or plastic surgeon and their advice is way more reliable. However, it comes with a price and right now my advice is free. LoL
I’m not sure where this blog is going. But I wanted to share a little what’s going on and show off the facelift for the site.
I’m working lots and found a great routine. Between Pure Barre, lulu, babysitting, promo gigs (which I have yet to start) I'm a busy girl.
I’ve been able to take Pure Barre classes 4-5x a week and I can tell a difference with my shape. This workout never get’s easier and even after a year, I’m still in love with it. Teaching has been exciting and I’m really starting to open up and find my voice. The studio has many regulars and I love seeing their faces in my classes and getting to know new clients is still one of my favorite parts as well. I’m making friends and feeling grateful for this experience. It’s exactly what I want to be doing and knowing I’m working towards the bigger picture, makes me feel content.
I have been craving soda’s lately among other bad things, but sodas are easy to grab at CVS or markets while I’m killing time before work. So instead of caving in, I’ve been drinking some Kombucha. I prefer the Synergy brand and it’s been fermented so it has enough carbonation to satisfy my needs. What is it? “An interpretation of an ancient elixir. With a unique blend of property probiotics and powerful antioxidants, each bottle is designed to nourish your body from the inside out.” It’s is 100% organic certified with all natural ingredients (organic acids +aminos+ electrolytes) with only 35 calories, 0 fat and low carbohydrates. I like the fruity flavors! You can get a health food stores like whole foods, fresh market, etc.
Mom and Dad sent me some V-day love with a generous gift card to Starbucks so I’ve also been enjoying coffee 3-4 x a week. I know I gave up coffee a long time ago, but it’s been making me happy and getting me through my long days when I’m up at 4am-11pm! I found a loop whole in their system with the refills too, and although I don’t do it a lot, I will save my cups and ask for a refill sometimes. Don’t judge me. Give me a tall Pike with sugar free vanilla and skim milk and I'm ready to seize the day!
I’m in love with Smash, Glee and Modern Family. I’ve always been a fan of the second two shows and Smash just fits in with my repertoire. Hulu has really been a life savor and although I have to wait eight days to watch those new episodes, it’s okay. If I get really desperate I will pay $3.00 on itunes. I’ve only had to do that once. Free is better than $40 extra dollars a month for basic cable.
Lori and switched rooms. I’m out in the main living area and she’s in the bedroom in the back. I bought some screens to divide the space up a little better. I also bought some bookshelves to keep a more enclosed feel and overall I’m happy with the set up. I love having light from the big window and I sleep to thunder storms on my phone so I don’t hear the fire department and homeless people digging through trash. Wow, that it makes it sounds like I’m living in the projects. I’m not. Just on the first floor where all the exciting action is!
I think I’m going to eat some Yuka sushi tonight. I crave it 3x a week and treat myself once. So Thursday night it is.
I’m heading back to KY March 15-24 to relax at home for a bit, see my family, LOVE on my dogs, visit friends, attend my cousins baby shower and go on a girls weekend trip to Memphis with my family. It will be action packed, but hopefully I’ll find some time to sleep and watch endless hours of TV! I’m also going to drive into Lexington for a day and visit with the kids I nannied for and see my Lexington circle of friends!
Life is good. I have an apartment in NYC, I teach at Pure Barre, I get to eat, I get to work out, I’m happy, I am doing it on my own and despite those small moments of loneliness, despair, question, doubt, financial suffering and anger, I know I’m doing exactly what I’m meant to do- give it my all.
Much love from the city. Xoxo!
